Crispy, Seasoned Oven-Roasted Chickpeas Recipe

These crispy seasoned chickpeas are the perfect snack or topper for a salad. Crispy and crunchy, and bake up pretty quick, they are such a great snack!

The seasonings!

I like to season my crispy chickpeas with a Creole seasoning blend Tony Chachere’s! Its a salty, smoky, and a little spicy! It is seriously good on everything: eggs for breakfast, fries, burgers, pork chops. If Tony C’s is new to you, I highly recommend picking up some in the spice aisle at the grocery store next time you go!

In this recipe, I wait until a little later to add in the spices. The first few times I made these, I found that the spices would just burn too quickly with how hot the oven temperature is. So save the spices until the first initial roast!

Roast until super, super crispy!

I roast my chickpeas in just oil for the first 5 to 10 minutes. This helps to evaporate any remaining moisture from the canned beans, and also begins the crisping process. Then, add in those spices and toss the chickpeas. The contact with the heat from the sheet pan will really help these chickpeas become crispy, so make sure to toss every 5 minutes or so, until 20 to 25 minutes total. Roast until a shade darker, and have reached a crispy level to your liking!
